Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS System Administration Setup

To access Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS Inventory data from FootPrints, the feature must be configured by the System Administrator.  This is done under Administration | System | Features | Asset Management.

Note

You must have a license for this feature.  The option to use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS is not available unless you are licensed. Please contact your sales representative to obtain a license.

This page contains the following settings:

  1. Select Administration | System | Features | Asset Management from the FootPrints Toolbar.
  2. Select Systems Management Server and click Save.
  3. The following options are displayed:
  4. Enable Asset Management—This setting enables or disables Asset Management for the system.  If you enable Asset Management here, it is enabled system-wide, but it must also be enabled in individual Workspaces.  Refer to Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS Workspace Administration Setup for additional information.
  5. Server Information—The following information is needed for connecting to the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS server:
  1. After entering the information above, click the link to test the connection.
  2. If the test is successful, enter your password and click GO.  If the test fails, try a second time.  If the test fails a second time, please check your settings.  Troubleshooting assistance is provided in FootPrints and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS Troubleshooting Guide.
  3. Before you can access Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS data from a Workspace, it must be enabled and configured for that Workspace.  Please follow the instructions for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS Workspace Administration Setup for each Workspace in which you would like to access Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/SMS inventory data.
