To perform a migration of FootPrints from one web server type to another, or from one database server type to another, you must contact BMC Support by telephone in advance. Call during normal Eastern Standard Time business hours at 800 537 1813 (USA and Canada).
If you wish to perform a migration of FootPrints from one web server to another while continuing to use the same database, a migration tool has been developed for this purpose. This tool only moves the file system, not the database. After the move, the target FootPrints file system points to the source FootPrints database. The file system move is accomplished via a two part backup and restore process performed by the user. Refer to the Knowledge Base article titled Migration of FootPrints using the migration tool for details on this process and the migration tool.
